Diagnosis & Unique Plan of Care

Every patient is evaluated individually and treated with a completely different and unique plan of care to best treat their specific needs. A careful assessment of the patient’s overall health, and a diagnosis is obtained. This is where Chinese medicine and acupuncture are at their best.

The point at which the needle has been inserted has been carefully chosen by the Acupuncturist through a series of diagnostic methods. The first method is to feel the three pulses on each wrist. These pulses connect to internal organs and have distinct characteristics of their own. The sensation or “feel” of the pulse tells the Acupuncturist what organs are out of balance and need treatment. Some Acupuncturists are so good at reading the pulse that they can tell if a woman is pregnant far earlier than a traditional pregnancy test. The next method of diagnosis is the patient’s tongue. The shape, color, texture and coating are all indicators of the internal workings of the body. For example, a pale and flabby or wide tongue indicates anemia and poor or weak digestion. All of this along with a detailed intake of problems from the patient lead the Acupuncturist to a diagnosis and treatment protocol. The average first visit with a patient can last an hour.

Body Tune-Up

Psoas-Illiopsoas muscle
psoas muscle
The Body Tune-Up is a treatment developed to address the Psoas-Iliopsoas muscles that shorten and pull upwards on the Anterior Superior Iliac Spine (ASIS). This pulling upwards causes a tilting of the pelvis. This in turn shortens the thigh and leg creating an imbalance that results in one leg being 1 to 2 inches shorter than the other. Over time, the muscles will spasm and become overworked eventually causing pain in the foot, ankle, knee, hip and lower back. I will show you how to correct and also prevent this problem from happening to you.

Don’t let this common problem cause you pain and discomfort. If this goes on untreated long enough, it can cause a herniated or bulged disc and arthritis in your spinal column. A few simple easy techniques along with acupuncture can keep you in balance, reduce your pain, increase your flexibility, and correct your posture.

Auricular Therapy

Auricular Therapy entails the placement of small round beads on specific points on the outer ear. The ear is a microsystem of the entire human body and its internal organs. This therapy is extemely effective in treating chronic conditions and is perfect for people who don’t like needles. It can also promote weight loss.

Acu-lift Facial

The Acu-lift Facial treatment starts with an evaluation of the skin on the face. Very small needles are inserted into the fine lines and wrinkles on the patient’s skin to increase the flow of “Qi” or energy and blood to the surface layers of the face. Micro circulation to the epidermis help the cells to increase collagen production to bring about a more youthful look with regular treatments.

Acu-lift Facial and Systemic Enzyme Therapy Treatment

TrevinolThe Acu-lift Facial treatment when used in combination with a natural systemic enzyme help the cells to increase collagen production, waste elimination and the uptake of new enzymes which feed and repair the cell itself. The all natural enzyme supplement that is at the core to a more youthful look is called Trevinol Professional by Landis Revin Nutraceuticals. Trevinol is all-natural and safe for the “dissolving” of fibrin throughout the body and reducing inflammation. Fibrin is a protein that forms scar tissue. As we age, this fibrin starts to form wrinkles on our face. Every time we smile or frown or show emotions, our facial muscles become less elastic and the lines form due to fibrin deposition. Trevinol will start to dissolve this fibrin in all tissue and especially in our faces. Over time, the use of Trevinol can control inflammation and reduce scar tissue in our skin, organs, joints and arteries. The skin becomes softer, more supple, and more youthful.
