Personal Training

Matt Anderson, L.Ac.As a certified YMCA strength trainer since 1996, I have refined a circuit training method which increases strength, flexibility and endurance while also promoting weight loss. This is accomplished in a manner which is safe and easy on the joints and muscles.

The circuit workout system is based on using opposite muscle groups. In its simplest form, it requires you to push and pull. By conditioning your muscles in this way, scientific studies have proven that individuals get stronger than those who use the same muscle groups back to back. For example, once you finish a set of a chest (push) muscle, you will go directly to your back a (pull) muscle. This alternating sequence continues with the whole body without stopping in between exercises until you finish and are ready to start over at the beginning. The first major benefit of the Circuit Training System is the increase of heart rate while training. This is in fact a “Cardio-Weight Training Workout.” It burns more calories and body fat than a regular weight workout or a cardio session. By combining weight lifting and not resting between sets, you burn more fat than weights or cardio alone.

I also have extensive knowledge in the field of nutrition, the blood type diet, vitamins and sports supplements.
